JSC “Munaymash” is one of the oldest enterprises in Northern Kazakhstan. It was established in November 1941, based on the “Krasny Gidropres” factory, which was evacuated from the city of Taganrog.

Over its half-century history from 1941 to 1991, the enterprise developed as a metalworking and assembly plant, producing goods for the war effort, parts and components for agricultural machinery, instruments for petrochemistry, clock mechanisms, radio equipment, military-industrial complex devices, and consumer goods. The enterprise was under various structures relevant to the time, including the Council of People’s Commissars, sovnarkhozes (regional economic councils), and the Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry. With the formation of sovereign Kazakhstan, the enterprise became part of several National Companies: “Korgau,” “KazMunayGas,” and “Kazakhstan Engineering.”

Currently, JSC “Munaymash” specializes in the production of downhole sucker rod pumps used for oil extraction at fields in Western Kazakhstan. The main consumer is JSC “RD KazMunayGas,” along with several smaller operators.

The enterprise has the necessary production facilities covering an area of 4.6 hectares, a wide range of universal and specialized metalworking equipment, and its own closed infrastructure, supported by redundant engineering networks. In 2005, together with JSC “Investment Fund of Kazakhstan” and with the support of the Company, an investment project was launched to upgrade the enterprise’s technological base, which was successfully completed in 2007 at a cost of 387.5 million tenge. As part of this project, new technological equipment was purchased, installed, and tested, including boring and honing machines for processing the internal channels of long cylinders, gas-flame spraying units for applying hard-alloy stainless steel powders, and installations for increasing surface hardness using ion-vacuum nitriding. A new building was constructed to house this equipment, three spans of the existing building were reconstructed, and all energy communications were installed. The result of the investment project was the creation of a closed production line for manufacturing sucker rod pumps (SRPs). Today, the enterprise possesses all the necessary licensing and permitting documentation, as well as the technological expertise and qualified personnel to manufacture SRPs and other oilfield equipment. The company has developed and implemented a quality management system in accordance with the international ISO 9001:2000 standard, which is annually confirmed by an international certification body.
